Unformulas, a murky presence in the underground metal scene, emerged in 2019 from the abyss, shaped by the creative mind of Nicklas Rudolfsson, also known for his work in The Funeral Orchestra, Sacramentum, and Runemagick, among others.

Initially a collaborative effort, Unformulas transformed into Nicklas Rudolfsson's solitary multi-instrumentalist project. Vocals found life through David Nilsson (Feral), propelling Unformulas to new depths.

Between 2020 and 2022, two sessions were recorded, initially as demos. Over time, they evolved into the potential for a full-length album and an EP. Johan Bäckman at Raven Noise Studio mixed and mastered both works.

In 2022, Unformulas revealed their debut album, "Post Mortem Visionary". Featuring guest artists like Rasmus Kvist (Gravkväde, Vomitrot) and Nir Doliner (Venomous Skeleton) to name a few, the album gained depth. Serpent Above's dark artwork graced the cover, capturing its essence. Aftermath Music (LP, CD) and Ablaze Productions (CD) released the album.

Unformulas ventured into their next project, "Spiritual Chaos Vortex," a split album (and standalone digital EP) with the band Ceremonial Death, extending their musical journey. Set to be released in fall 2023 by Aftermath Music.

Looking ahead, Unformulas began crafting their second full-length album in the summer of 2023. Their dedication promises a lasting impact within the realm of underground epic death metal. Recording commenced in the fall of 2023 at Necrotic Sound Studio, Ljungskile, Sweden. Unlike the initial demos, the focus now is on creating a cohesive album — a sonic exploration into the shadows of death, life, and the unknown. The outcome and release date, however, remain uncertain, awaiting the passage of time to unveil the final result.
